Custom Shielding

We can create custom and lightweight shields to fit your needs.

CONFORMAL – This coating can be applied to any surface. It is a proprietary 2-step process. Attenuation ranges from -30dB to -70dB, depending on weight and thickness. The coating can be applied in the field, but it is better applied under controlled conditions.

POLYMER SHEET/FILM – This film is flexible and comes in rolls or sheets with a choice of several polymers. It can be easily wrapped or folded around parts. The film is internally conductive and can be heat-sealed without leakage at the seam to easily create enclosures. The film is available in 5 weights/thicknesses with attenuation ranging from -35dB to -55dB.

EXAMPLE OF CUSTOM SOLUTION – This Bluetooth antenna shield was developed to limit a Bluetooth lock to operation from one side only. The “straw” shield is placed over the Bluetooth antenna on the PC board. The Bluetooth shield is a commercial product that has already sold over 15,000 units.

We have created lightweight coatings that conform to a shape, or are flexible, or stop Bluetooth interference. Other solutions are under development.
